Hot Press

I really contemplated just posting these pictures and not saying anything. I mean, it’s Eugene’s Hot Chicken. No words are gonna be able to convey what this picture does. Oh well, I guess a blog requires saying something.

We went to Trucks by the Tracks at Railroad Park this month and I made a beeline for the Eugene’s Hot Chicken Truck. And so did everybody else. I waited in line quite a while just so I could tell you how good this chicken is. That the kind of thing I do for my readers. You are welcome.

I ordered the Jumbo Chicken Strips with Parsnips and Carrots. They offer 4 levels of heat: Southern, Mild, Hot, and Stupid Hot. I ordered Hot. It was very well flavored, crispy, and temperature hot (must have just come out of the fryer). I ordered the veggies on the side because, you know, vegetables cancel out all unhealthy food. I think. But then I sat down, with my food and thought, “woops they gave me fries.” But as I began to eat, I realized that these WERE carrots and parsnips disguised as French fries. And they were GOOD. Fooled me.

As far as the spice goes, to me it really wasn’t that hot.  I mean it was spicy, but not super spicy. But I have an unhealthy need for extremely spicy food. Perhaps I should try the Stupid Hot next time?
